when I put this out last spring I did so under my birthname "jonathan hopkins bailey" which felt fitting at the time as these were totally improvised pieces, pretty different from what I usually release as lava gulls which is more deliberate and has vocals etc....

Over the past year this music has served as a kind of blueprint/sonic concept for other music I've been writing, so now I consider it a proper lava gulls release and do hope that people continue to discover it. I made it in an afternoon and have a very distinct memory of playing it back for myself on my way home from a bar in clinton hill, and I was so satisfied.
